Thank you all for you great comments on the moonmoth... Fragile it looks but certainly isn't.... the whole moth is about 1 cm thick excluding the body but the backer is 5 mm plywood... the width of it was about 40 cm.

Danke an Euch alle für Eure tollen Kommentare zum Nachtfalter .... Es sieht zwar zerbrechlich aus, ist es aber nicht ...der ganze Falter ist etwa 1 cm dick (außer dem Körper) aber die Rückwand besteht aus 5 mm Sperrholz ... der Falter ist etwa 40 cm breit.

Weil ich die Moonmoth so wunderschön finde, habe ich sie vor einiger Zeit gesägt und wie immer den Prozess mit Fotos dokumentiert. Danny hat eine sehr interessante Technik verwendet, die Euch vielleicht interessieren wird und nachdem ich die Kommentare vom Februar und den aktuellen Beitrag von Christine gelesen habe, kam mir die Idee, Euch die Entstehung zu zeigen.

Später werde ich mal mit Wolfgang sprechen, ob wir sie als "Schritt-für-Schritt" Anleitung einstellen.

Das ist eine prima Idee Angelika - diese Entstehung ist bestimmt vor allem für Anfänger wie mich hoch interessant.

That would be a great pattern for a step by step intarsia project as it is just wonderful.
