Segmentation
In contrast to intarsia the pieces are cut from a single slice of wood. The pieces are stained afterwards.

)
----
@ Homer & Carol: I´ve already put two shims under the snout and another one under the area you have marked (except the chin). I added one under the nose, too, to raise it further. Perhaps I should fotograf it from another view. Isn´t it a problem that you can see the shims that are positioned under the arm and the tail if you have a look from the side - or do you know a trick?

Da bist du ja schon sehr weit gekommen. Das gefällt mir sehr gut. Hast du wieder Palownia genommen?

We think you did a very good job of shaping and the project looks great. We do not know how thick the material is that you used but here are a few tips we use to get the depths we want. We like to add a lot of depth to our projects so in some cases it requires raising or lowering pieces. The best way to see this and not cause any damage to your beautiful project is to add a few shims to the bottom of the pieces. Do not glue them just add them to see there affect.
When you get the look you want you can either raise the pieces or lower the pieces around it. Then just grind the edges down to match the pieces next to it. We hope this helps and we will try the answer any questions you may have.

Auch ein Waschbär was created by Anna
