Slot Machine/Bank
The entire unit is made from wood except the shafts, plastic bushings, springs and steel cables. It only works if you insert a quarter in the slot and then it drops it in the base below. All the power is from springs that are set when you pull the lever forward, no batteries, motors or other power. I was drawing up some gears for a friend when I got the idea and I just had to see if I could make it. It’s like a government machine, you put the money in and it gives you nothing back even if you win!!!!

Alle Teile der Maschine sind aus Holz gemacht, außer den Wellen, Federn und Stahlseilen. Sie funktioniert nur, wenn man eine Münze in den Schacht wirft und sie nach unten fällt. Die Energie kommt aus den Federn, die gespannt werden, wenn Du den Griff nach vorne ziehst - keine Batterien, kein Motor oder andere Energiequellen. Die Idee kam mir, als ich ein paar Zahnräder für einen Freund aufgezeichnet habe und da musste ich unbedingt ausprobieren, ob ich die Maschine bauen kann. Es ist wie eine "Regierungs-Maschinerie": Du wirfst Geld ein und bekommst nichts zurück - sogar, wenn Du gewonnen hast!!!!
Schade dass das Video nicht besser ist, aber es ist mein erster Versuch gewesen, ein You Tube Video einzustellen.

What about the lever and the handle? It looks like done on a lathe?

Impressive!!

I sanded the drums round by making a fixture for the drums and then clamped it to the table. By mounting it at a slight angle the sanding disc spun the drum and sanded it round. I used the same sanding disc to sand and shape the top of the handle, the lower part is a 1" dowel.

Ich habe die Trommeln rund geschliffen, indem ich mir eine Befestigung gebaut und diese auf dem Tisch mit Spannzwingen angebracht habe. Da ich sie mit einem kleinen Winkel aufgebaut habe, hat die Schleifscheibe die Trommel redreht und dabei rund geschliffen. Genauso habe ich es gemacht, als ich den Oberteil des Griffs geschliffen habe. Unten ist ein einzölliger Dübel.
