---

Franz, first the similarity to the fixture aid attracted my attention - at that time I didn´t know the Helping Hand. After I had translated the instruction I was struck by the number of matches.

The only explanation I have is that the magazine people came to an agreement with Steve Good and the Bishops. Authors and publishers of Feinschnitt Kreativ are an experienced team because of their woodturning magazin. They may not take over somebodies intellectual properties, because this is legally hot stuff.

You should see what I saw!

Hallo Homer & Carol,

Franz

Hi Homer and Carol,

in all modesty: There is such a close match between your Helping Hand and the clamping aid of Reinhard Leps that I would assume that somebody had copied your work and wrote his own name above it. :S

It struck me because there is an idea or work of Steve Good in the same issue (fixture aid for 3-D) without mentioning Steves name

Friendly regards,

Franz

Hello to everyone.
The clamp that you saw in the mag. while similar to ours is not our design and was not developed over many years and including 400 intarsia projects. We developed this and in 2012 featured it in an American magazine. Since then it has been for sale here in the states as a Bishop CLAMP by Bushton Manufacturing. The cost to ship a unit from here to Germany would be more than the unit cost so Bushton has allowed use to show you how to build one for your own personal use.
The clamp is designed for intarsia but can be used for all types of woodworking and other crafts. We will show some pictures later as how and where it can be used. We will also show you how to make a frame so that gravity will also help hold your projects.
We hope you will all make and use the clamp and if you have any questions just ask.
God Bless
Homer & Carol

Hallo an Alle,

Hi

even if I did no intarsia up to now, I like the idea very much :)

I have an additional idea, additional boreholes in the board would allow to position the bars closer to the object without using shims.

Viele Grüße
Felix

Hallo Angelika,

Hi Angelika,

first of all thank you for translating and a big "Thank you" to Homer and Carol who put all their knowledge behind as creators of the helping hand. :)

But here is my perhaps silly question: Hasn´t the same mounting aid been published in the last issue of the Feinschnitt ? Author of the article has been Reinhard Leps (as far as I know he is a woodturner and not a scroller) and there was no mentioning of Homer & Carol

A song of a german band, the "Tote Hosen" crosses my mind ;)

[Note from Angelika: The translation of the songs title is roughly: "Everything only snitched"]

Kind regards

Franz

Applaus Applaus,

---

Maggy, I am going to translate your post - Homer and Carol will surely like to answer (and I am going to translate their answer for us).

Uwe, I am very happy about the valuable addition coming from Homer and Carol to our forum. I want to build the Helping Hand in any case. Homer and Carol will provide the members with the instruction. I am nearly finished with the translation. Here you will get to know how to get the download as soon as we come to an agreement with Homer and Carol about the best way to do this.

You should see what I saw!

---

It is great that Homer and Carol show us how to make the work easier and allow you to show it to us. :) I will keep this in mind because I am convinced that the Helping Hand makes sense.
Great, that you show this to make the work easier for others.

---

In the last issue of "Feinschnitt Kreativ" there was an article that described how to build a frame for intarsia-pieces. It looks similar to the Helping Hand of Homer and Carol, but because I do not know much about intarsia I may be wrong. Homer and Carol are experts doing intarsia so I assume that their Helping Hand is well thought out and tested. It is great that they will make the instruction available for the members of the forum.
